Mackinac Island has been long-renowned for geological wonders such as Arch Rock and Sugar Loaf. Over the past century, other once-famous formations were intentionally demolished or have suffered natural collapse. In this presentation, Kyle Bagnall, park naturalist for Mackinac State Historic Parks, will highlight island attractions which have been lost to time and nearly forgotten. We’ll rediscover forgotten caves, climb the Giant’s Stairway, and peer through Fairy Arch, once described as “one of the most beautiful specimens of nature's handiwork.
