Blessing of the Fleet - General Information

Celebrate the start of another summer season at the Historical Society’s 7th Annual Blessing of the Fleet on June 26 and 27

The event kicks off with a visit from the Utopia, a 77’ staysail schooner, designed by the late Fred J. Peterson and built in 1946. Utopia made her maiden sea voyage in 1947 when she cruised the North Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and Caribbean Islands. Utopia will be at the city marina and open for free public tours on June 26 and 27 from 10am - 3pm.

On June 27 at 6:00 pm, all types of watercraft are welcome to join our traditional Blessing of the Fleet boat parade. Participants are encouraged to register with the Historical Society to receive important radio channel and course information prior to the parade.

Immediately following the parade, join us at the Walstrom Marine Showroom (500 E Bay Street) for a strolling supper featuring local beer, wine, cocktails, music, a silent auction, raffle and more summer fun. Tickets for the party are $100/person. All proceeds support the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society.
